When hope backfires.

Hope-1

Supposely there was a Jewish guy roughly 2000 years ago that went about spreading love and hope among his people. Telling them that everything was going to be alright that all they had to do was just let God work out his “plan”. His father, the guy is ofcourse Jesus the anointed one, or Messiah as he is also known as.

Is that not a beautiful thought that there is a loving and all knowing being that take cares of you. When you are in a world of shit there is a bright light that shines through the clouds and engulfs you in a warm and fuzzy feeling of comfort.

But then minutes later, the clouds passes by, the light is gone and you open your eyes and you’re still in a world of shit. Your mind starts to work out the possible scenarios of why your omnipotent being had not helped you. Was it not a part of his plan? Is it a test? Or even worse! Did you SIN?!?

You start to work out a plan on how to satisfy your omniscient father figure that lurks, perhaps you start to go to church more frequent, or easier, you kneel down and form a prayer directed at him.

Have you not been a good person? Did you not help enough old ladies pass the street? Did you break one of the commandments?

After looking for the answers yourself in your holy books and unable to find a clear answer, you contact your local holyman, asking for guidance.

After awhile, a couple of days, things seem to go better. You thank your LORD that he had helped you through this troublesome part of your life.

Why go through all this? Why go through all this worrying that you are not satisfying your God? How do you know that he had actually helped you, and it was not just your own achivements and the world around you that reacted on your presence?

What is destiny and the plan of God, if not tools to mess with the so called free will that the Abrahamic religions preach so hard about.

God knows everything that has been and will be. He is alpha and omega, therefore he knows why and how you are going to displease him. Does he help you with avoiding this? No! He would rather judge you by it, even though he knows that you’re going to do it, he set up the obstacles well knowing you can’t pass them.

Why would you want to believe in that?

If you read the Bible you will soon come to the conclusion that God has self-esteem issues in the old testamente, he wants the approval of his people all the time.

Sacrifices, worshipping and they must live by his rules. Why? Because he says so, he created them, and therefore they are his pets.

Even worse in the new testamente, he appears himself in a human form, as Jesus. Well knowing that he is going to sacrifice himself in human form to forgive the humans for the laws they have broken, laws he himself has set.

And would one call it a sacrifice when you can’t die?

Food for thought.
