After intense vaccination campaigns in the 19th & 20th century, the WHO declared that smallpox had been eradicated in1979. It is one of two infectious diseases that have been eradicated.

That was a big victory for the human species, but recently especially in the US a group of people have declared themselves anti-vaccers, people who oppose vaccinating children.

A movement that is not only threatening the lives of their children, but also the overall health of our entire species. Vaccines are only effective when the vast majority of the population has taken it.

I am actually sickened by these people, a bunch of uninformed fucktards who believe that vaccines are a part of a one world order conspiracy to control the population of the Earth.

Or that vaccines cause autism, both claims that are without evidence, the latter one actually been debunked, the rumour that vaccines causes autism started when someone published a study that supposely showed that vaccines cause children to become autistic, a study that later was proven to be bogus and false. The person behind the study was convicted for fraud, he also took blood samples from children, for no cause.

He was paid to do it, to make up a false story.

If you can get a vaccine, get it, not only for you, but also for the people around you. It is not some evil thing, it has shown to work, and it has helped the human species to survive and eradicate and supress diseases that otherwise would have killed millions of people every year.

I wonder if the anti-vaccers still would be against vacines, if we got an outbreak of smallpox again.
