Who am I? The ultimative question.

It all depends on how you decide to answer it. Lets face it the question is actually not answerable. If you will think of it like I do. What makes us into who we are? Is it not our past experiences, our curricullum vitae, the story of our lives?

Most people would agree. If it is so then the question “Who am I?” or “Who are you?” is pointless since who am I is just relative to that particular moment in time. 5 seconds later I will not be the same as I was 5 seconds ago. I am not the same person I was 2 days ago nor the same person 7 years ago.

Plato also realised this problem with the known world that you can never truly know anything about it since it is ever changing. As the river is never the same river twice.

You could sit down and think about who you are but I tell you that it is a huge waste of energy because tomorrow you will be another person again. Just the fact that you have thought about who you are has changed who you are.

We could cut the question down into facts but that is a cynical way of expressing who we are. I could write 22/M/DK but does that tell you who I am?

I could of course flesh it out with more words but it is still the same.

Can we ever know who we truly are?

Only the people that live after we are dead are truly capable of telling the tale of who we were.
